8. Collateral Management & Audits

USDX’s commitment to stability hinges on rigorous collateral controls and transparent auditing. This section details our custodian partnerships, real-time proof-of-reserves system, and audit cadence that collectively guarantee every USDX in circulation is fully backed by USD.

8.1 Reserve Custody Partners

  • Segregated Bank Accounts: USDX reserves are held in dedicated, segregated U.S. dollar accounts at top-tier banking institutions (e.g., Prime Trust, Fireblocks). Funds are never co-mingled with operating or corporate accounts.

  • Insured & Regulated: All accounts reside in FDIC-insured banks up to the standard limits. In addition, we maintain supplemental private insurance to cover amounts exceeding FDIC caps.

  • Daily Sweeps & Reconciliation: At the close of each business day, new USD deposits are swept into the main reserve pool. Automated reconciliation scripts match bank statements against the on-chain token supply to detect and rectify any discrepancies within 24 hours.

8.2 Proof-of-Reserves Framework

  • Real-Time Data Feeds: A live dashboard aggregates on-chain metrics (total USDX supply) and off-chain reserve balances (custodian account balances) via secure API integrations. Any deviation beyond 1% triggers an automated alert to the treasury and audit team.

  • Merkle-Tree Attestations: Weekly snapshots of reserve balances are hashed into a Merkle tree whose root is published on-chain. This enables anyone to verify individual tranche balances without revealing sensitive banking details.

  • Independent Watchers: Third-party monitoring services (e.g., Chainlink Keepers) continuously poll for mismatches between on-chain supply events (mint/burn) and off-chain reserve updates, creating an additional layer of oversight.

8.3 Audit Schedule & Reporting

  • Monthly Attestations: A leading accounting firm performs a monthly attestation engagement, verifying that bank-held USD equals or exceeds the total USDX supply. The auditor’s report, including detailed reserve breakdowns, is published publicly within five business days of period close.

  • Quarterly Deep Audits: Every quarter, a full financial audit (GAAP/IFRS compliant) examines all custody processes, accounting controls, and smart contract logs. Findings and management letters are released on USDX’s website.

  • Transparent Publication: All audit and attestation reports (PDF) are archived on our proof-of-reserves portal. Users can filter by date, custodian, or chain, and download raw data for independent analysis. A public changelog logs any protocol or custodial changes.

By combining institutional-grade custody, on-chain cryptographic proofs, and regular third-party attestations, USDX ensures unassailable confidence in its 1:1 USD backing, setting a new benchmark for stablecoin reserve transparency.
