7.1 Decentralized Identity Layer

At its core, Proofile is a self-sovereign identity protocol. Unlike Web2 identity systems controlled by centralized platforms, Proofile enables users to own, control, and manage their digital identity through blockchain infrastructure. This identity is built on-chain and grows as the user participates in the Web3 world.

Key aspects include:

  • Wallet-based authentication – Users control their identity through private keys, not logins or email.

  • Multi-wallet support – Users can link and manage multiple wallets under one Proofile.

  • Cross-chain compatibility – Identity reflects activity across major chains: Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, etc.

  • Interoperability by design – dApps and protocols can integrate Proofile as a plug-and-play layer for user identity and scoring.

The identity layer serves as the foundation for dNFT profiles, reputation layers, and endorsement systems. It enables other protocols to use identity data without ever owning or storing it—protecting privacy while unlocking functionality.
