7.3 Skill Endorsement Staking
A powerful extension of the Proofile ecosystem is the Skill Endorsement Staking mechanism—a system designed to enable peers, communities, and protocols to vouch for a user’s skills, contributions, or credibility by staking tokens in support of their profile.
In traditional platforms like LinkedIn, endorsements are free to give—and often meaningless. Proofile solves this by turning endorsements into skin-in-the-game staking events, where every vote of confidence comes with financial weight and social proof.
✅ How It Works
A user lists a skill, badge, or achievement on their Proofile (e.g., Solidity Developer, DAO Strategist, DeFi Analyst).
Peers (other users, DAOs, or orgs) can endorse that skill by staking a small amount of $PROOF tokens to it.
The more staking a skill receives, the more visible and weighted it becomes in the user’s reputation layer.
If an endorsement turns out to be false or manipulative, stakers can lose part of their stake (via slashing or decay), discouraging spam and promoting authentic validation.
This creates a reputation economy based not on popularity, but on trust and commitment.

Staking Rewards: Endorsers may earn token rewards when the endorsed user is hired, verified by a third-party, or promoted.
